unhinged mtg furry theory

I have this stupid joke theory about magic the gathering:

:explode: there used to be a finnish furry working on the game in the 90's/00's :explode:

proof:

there's this anthropomorphic cat in the mtg canon known as mirri. that also happens to be the finnish word for pussycat. this is clearly intentional, but why did they go with a finnish word?

Image

in a set called legends a lot of creatures were based off of the design team's dnd characters. one of them is an anthro cat called jedit ojanen. ojanen is a common finnish last name. the colours of the card are blue and white, and cats in mtg are very rarely those two colours. however..... blue and white are the colours of the finnish flag.

Image

the final nail to the coffin....TURRI ISLAND. TURRI IS FINNISH FOR FURRY IN THE ANTHRO ANIMAL SENSE

Image

also simic is the most furry ravnica guild and many of them have fins...... finns. makes you think???

OH! That's fun!!! I don't see why not! Ha ha ha! I mean, if the pieces fit. ;D

I have seen a few cards that reminded me of furries, and I thought about snapping them up just to keep for that purpose. xD

I tried to get into the actual game itself, but I didn't have money for lots of boosters or anything, and nobody to play with, so I ended up playing YuGiOh on mobile. xD (A Blue-Eyes White Dragon Specialty Deck <3 )

I've played mtg a lot, used to do it semi-competetively, but burned out on it and now I only own EDH decks (well, mainly my derevi bird tribal, who could've guessed).
This joke theory about the finnish furry sometimes comes up in conversations with friends, we keep coming up with more tenuous connections as proof lol

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if furries have worked on it in any capacity since so many furries are fantasy artists

there are furry artists actively working and making pieces for the game now so yeah i'll incorporate this into my belief system

Honestly it would be a dream come true to do art for mtg or any other fantasy game ;;

one detail about jedit ojanen I want to mention: "jedit" in finnish is the plural of "jedi". so to me, that name has always read basically as "Jedis Smith"
