Dragon Cave

Post by SapphireRaeburn »

I saw some people talking about Dragon Cave and maybe trying it, so I thought I'd plop a thread here on it. :D

And in case anyone is thinking about joining, the Halloween event is starting soon! The festivities start a week before Halloween, unless you are a spriter and want to create mini treats this year for the trick-or-treat hunt at which case the submissions for has started now.

Usually what happens at Halloween, is there is a little game to play like a potion mixing game or a VN and you have to solve the murder, that kind of thing. There will also be eggs popping up on the site every 5 minutes that aren't the normal dragon eggs, and are just decorative eggs for you to grab for your Halloween basket and can look at for years to come.

Like these: These are some of the treats I've collected. You can collect treats from previous years too, so if you keep hunting, you can get them all!

And on Halloween for 24hours there will be a brand new special Halloween dragon being released! It's a scramble to get them, so unless you have quick internet and a quick stylus/mouse/finger, you may want to wait until a few hours into Halloween day so you won't be competing with so many people. You may also find Halloween dragon eggs from previous years in a special area of the Abandoned cave and the "Halloween" biome. :D (Oh! There is an egg and hatchling limit. As you collect more dragons, the limit gives you a little more room to play with, but yeah. Don't stock up on older halloween eggs and not leave room for the new special dragon on halloween day! Once your eggs hatch, you can get more eggs again. I think the max amount at new user level is 4 or 5. Maybe 5? But I know as you get into it, the max amount of eggs you can have at a time is 8. )

So, there you go. In case anybody is interested in joining soon and wants an idea what everybody on the site is ramping up for. xD

@acetylcholine A helpful thing to make sure that your eggs hatch, if you click on them, you can see how much time they have left. Once they hit after 6 days, like 5days 23hrs or whatever, then it's safe to load them up on this site: https://www.allureofnds.net/

There are people watching this site (like me) to make sure that the eggs and hatchlings get enough views to grow up instead of never hatching and dying. Views and Clicks are like the warmth that keeps them alive until they are adults. Adults don't need views or clicks.

The reason why I said to wait until after under the 6 day mark, is because that site can make the eggs too warm from too many views and they may get sick. But it's totally safe for them to get really warm from views after the 6 day mark.

And if there's a certain dragon you'd like, let me know! I might be able to breed you one! I've got most of the dragons in the game, and most of those can be bred.

I tried this awhile back! Had two eggs :)

However. .. despite knowing that my friends as well as other people clicked the egg links, they both died with zero clicks, so I took the site as a potential pay-to-win scam and left ):

Huh. That's odd. Was this about... god, when was that?... I remember like, three years after the site opened there were glitches that were causing some eggs to not receive clicks or views. It took the owner about a month and a half to fix. He ended up recoding the entire website the end of that year because the previous coding was being overwhelmed by the amount of dragons being generated.

Definitely not a pay-to-win! I've never spent a dime. And the only thing that they do ask money for - if - is so you can have ads blocked. They used to have a store up with shirts and things, and a donation bar, but I haven't checked if that's still a thing. I just live with the ads. Ha ha.

I will say that a couple of clicks aren't enough to hatch an egg. I mentioned a site above that can really help keep your eggs alive if you decide to try again. :D I think my hatched egg that had the lowest views and clicks, was like 900 views and 5 clicks. They don't need clicks to survive if they get tons of views. But yeah. Using that website, you can get upwards of a 1000 views easy, over 3k if the dragon cave released a new dragon so everybody's on and looking at dragons and eggs.

Oooo! Nice! I recognize that egg appearance! Those are both cool dragons! I can't wait until they hatch for you! xD It's so much fun watching the little buggers grow up!

Speaking of, your little red one is almost an adult! Congrats! xD It'll probably finish growing up today!
