The Resident Evil deck building game me and my brother played with his friends all the time!!!

Basically you played as a character from the series and using resource cards you would carefully build a deck by "buying" cards in a sort of open market that takes up a majority of the table. You always wanted to try making a deck that played to your characters strengths/make something incredibly broken.
For example: RE2 Leon gets bonus damage on handguns which are a weapon no one else really wants to invest in because of how low the damage is on them otherwise, so it's a resource you're not competing with anyone else on AND you can do some pretty wild damage with the correct hand.
You'd wanna deal the maximum damage you can because the survivors would want to "Explore the mansion" which would reveal a creature, an event, or even a useful item.
The game ends by killing the biggest monster in the mansion and then tallying up the score on the creatures you killed.
I kinda miss playing it honestly.

Sadly, I think my favorite game growing up is pretty well-known: Clue. My family would get together to play, and the most fun was trying to figure out what everyone else knew just by what questions they were asking and when they were marking. It was as much a game of figuring out 'Who-dun-it' as it was tricking your family members.

I'm not from an english speaking country so a lot of the board games I played as a kid are probably unknown to you. I remember afrikan tähti, muuttuva labyrintti, and (shivers) kimble.

in kimble you roll a d6 every turn and move pieces along a circular grid equal to the number, trying to get to the finish line. if you end your turn on an opponent's piece, it returns to their starting zone. you can only leave your starting zone if you roll a 6. there are no other rules. it's not particularly fun.

also, you couldn't let me and my siblings play uno or mario party, it would always start a fight. while not purely a board game, I have so many memories over my oldest sibling always winning at mario party. apparently my parents trained at night and secretly teamed up to beat them, but couldn't. they kept winning every time.

these days I mostly just play wingspan

"Kimble is a Finnish licensed version of the board game Trouble" (Wikipedia.org) Trouble is up there in games I love playing But, I grew up very poor, so cheap board games were all I had to entertain myself I loved popping the center to roll the dice, hearing the sound as well as the feel of it popping and how fast it spat out a roll. PLUS! No need for hunting after poor dice rolls that end up off the table

Afrikan Tähti (Wikipedia again) sounds like something I would love BIG fan of adventure boardgames. And I used to have LEGO's version of Muuttuva Labyrintti It was an alright game, I enjoyed building and looking at it more than actually playing it

This one called tally ho! Basically it was a hunting game. One team were forest animals and the other were hunters. I was always the forest animals :3

I had no idea kimble was licensed! yeah the best thing as a kid was the dice roller. I haven't played afrikan tähti or muuttuva labyrintti in a very, very long time so my memories of them are hazy. It seems like muttuva labyrintti is indeed the finnish localization of the ravensburger game labyrinth, didn't know that either!

the forbidden island! loved playing this game with my friends.
